Manuscript Editing for Journal of English for Academic Purposes Articles
The Journal of English for Academic Purposes is the official journal of BALEAP, giving EAP practitioners and researchers a venue to share work. It covers the linguistic, sociolinguistic, and psycholinguistic description of English in academic settings. Elsevier publishes six issues a year. Its co-editors are at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Sheffield Hallam University.
Full-length articles normally run up to 8,000 words and research-to-practice papers up to 4,000, not counting tables. References follow the APA Publication Manual, 7th edition. The abstract runs no more than 250 words, followed by one to six keywords, and highlights are optional. English may be American or British but not a mix. Review is double-anonymized. Off the Grid Editing holds one variety of English throughout and applies APA 7. Submissions go through Editorial Manager.

Manuscript Editing and Proofreading for the Journal of English for Academic Purposes
We offer three levels of manuscript editing depending on what your manuscript needs. Each is described below so you can choose the service that fits where your draft is right now.
Grammar and usage, awkward phrasing, repetition, and passive voice corrected, then clarity, concision, sentence structure, transitions, and tone, with your style manual applied throughout and a final proofread. For authors whose argument and structure are settled.
Clarity, emphasis, and paragraph structure: topic sentences, transitions, and sentences reordered within a paragraph, with every fact and claim kept as you wrote it. Includes copy editing and a final proofread.
Spelling, punctuation, typos, capitalization, grammar, and usage corrected with minimal wording changes, for manuscripts that have been edited and need a last check before submission to Journal of English for Academic Purposes.
Elsevier's guide for authors covers article types, references, and language. If you have reviewer comments from an earlier submission, send them with your manuscript and we will address each one. If you have questions about which service is right for your manuscript, contact us directly. We respond to every inquiry the same day during business hours.
See journal article and essay editing for how we edit scholarly articles, and academic proofreading for the last read before submission. If English is your second language, see English language editing for researchers. We also prepare articles for Written Communication and Applied Linguistics.
