Manuscript Editing for Rhetoric Review Journal Articles
Rhetoric Review is “a scholarly interdisciplinary journal of rhetoric,” publishing across the history, theory, and practice of rhetoric and writing, from rhetorical criticism and public address to technology and graduate education. Taylor & Francis publishes it under the Routledge imprint, and its editor is at Illinois State University. Readers can answer published articles in the Burkean Parlor, the journal's discussion forum.
Papers typically run up to 7,500 words, with an unstructured abstract of 250 words. Style follows the MLA guidelines named in the journal's instructions, and spelling is checked against Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition. Spelling is American, quotation marks are double, and long quotations are indented without them. Two expert referees review each paper after the editor's assessment. Off the Grid Editing checks every citation and spelling against those references. Submissions go through Routledge's Submission Portal.
Our Promise
We will ensure that the final draft you receive is completely ready to submit to Rhetoric Review. We work with you until it is ready or refund your payment in full. That commitment has held since 2002.
Our editors do not have access to your manuscript until an order is placed. Your draft is secure until you decide to proceed.
Manuscript Editing and Proofreading for Rhetoric Review
We offer three levels of manuscript editing depending on what your manuscript needs. Each is described below so you can choose the service that fits where your draft is right now.
Grammar and usage, awkward phrasing, repetition, and passive voice corrected, then clarity, concision, sentence structure, transitions, and tone, with your style manual applied throughout and a final proofread. For authors whose argument and structure are settled.
Clarity, emphasis, and paragraph structure: topic sentences, transitions, and sentences reordered within a paragraph, with every fact and claim kept as you wrote it. Includes copy editing and a final proofread.
Spelling, punctuation, typos, capitalization, grammar, and usage corrected with minimal wording changes, for manuscripts that have been edited and need a last check before submission to Rhetoric Review.
Taylor & Francis's instructions for authors cover length, style, and the abstract. If you have reviewer comments from an earlier submission, send them with your manuscript and we will address each one. If you have questions about which service is right for your manuscript, contact us directly. We respond to every inquiry the same day during business hours.
See journal article and essay editing for how we edit scholarly articles, and academic proofreading for the last read before submission. We also prepare articles for Rhetoric Society Quarterly and College Composition and Communication.
