Manuscript Editing for TDR: The Drama Review Journal Articles
TDR: The Drama Review presents itself as the journal of performance studies, an accessible and interdisciplinary forum that supports progressive political and social movements. It covers performance in its aesthetic, historical, and social dimensions. Cambridge University Press publishes it quarterly for NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where its editorial office sits.
The journal publishes articles, student essays, performance texts, and performative writing, with no word limit stated. Citations follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition, author-date, such as Miller 1993:143–45, with TDR's own exceptions. Endnotes come before the references and hold no citations. The abstract runs 70 to 100 words and avoids phrases such as in this article. House style uses American spelling, serial commas, and dates such as 1 September 1992. Non-English production titles come first, with English translations in parentheses. Off the Grid Editing applies the TDR guidelines and keeps citations out of the notes. Submissions go through ScholarOne.

Manuscript Editing and Proofreading for TDR: The Drama Review
We offer three levels of manuscript editing depending on what your manuscript needs. Each is described below so you can choose the service that fits where your draft is right now.
Grammar and usage, awkward phrasing, repetition, and passive voice corrected, then clarity, concision, sentence structure, transitions, and tone, with your style manual applied throughout and a final proofread. For authors whose argument and structure are settled.
Clarity, emphasis, and paragraph structure: topic sentences, transitions, and sentences reordered within a paragraph, with every fact and claim kept as you wrote it. Includes copy editing and a final proofread.
Spelling, punctuation, typos, capitalization, grammar, and usage corrected with minimal wording changes, for manuscripts that have been edited and need a last check before submission to TDR: The Drama Review.
The journal's writers guidelines cover citations, notes, and house style. If you have reviewer comments from an earlier submission, send them with your manuscript and we will address each one. If you have questions about which service is right for your manuscript, contact us directly. We respond to every inquiry the same day during business hours.
