The American Nurses Association Manuscript Editing Services
The American Nurses Association publishes the profession’s foundational documents, among them Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, the Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Social Policy Statement, along with specialty scope and standards titles and books on practice, policy, ethics, and professional development. These books carry the ANA’s name. The prose has to be exact.
Off the Grid Editing prepares manuscripts for ANA publication with attention to standards language, policy clarity, and consistent citation. We work in APA style for nursing manuscripts and apply the ANA’s own guidelines when you send them. Our editors have worked extensively in nursing practice and policy writing, and they read a standards document differently from a textbook chapter, because words such as should and must carry real weight there.
Our Promise
We will ensure that the final draft you receive is completely ready to submit to the American Nurses Association. We work with you until it is ready or refund your payment in full. That commitment has held since 2002.
Our editors do not have access to your manuscript until an order is placed. Your draft is secure until you decide to proceed.
Manuscript Editing Services for the American Nurses Association
We offer three levels of manuscript editing depending on what your manuscript needs. Each is described below so you can choose the service that fits where your draft is right now.
Grammar and usage, awkward phrasing, repetition, and passive voice corrected, then clarity, concision, sentence structure, transitions, and tone, with your style manual applied throughout and a final proofread. For authors whose argument and structure are settled.
Clarity, emphasis, and paragraph structure: topic sentences, transitions, and sentences reordered within a paragraph, with every fact and claim kept as you wrote it. Includes copy editing and a final proofread.
Spelling, punctuation, typos, capitalization, grammar, and usage corrected with minimal wording changes, for manuscripts that have been edited and need a last check before submission to the American Nurses Association.
ANA manuscripts often include formal standards language, policy recommendations, and ethical guidance. We check that standards language is phrased consistently, that each recommendation is tied to the evidence cited for it, and that references are complete. Include any ANA author guidelines with your manuscript. The ANA’s book author page describes how to submit a proposal. If you have questions about which service is right for your manuscript, contact us directly. We respond to every inquiry the same day during business hours.
