Manuscript Editing for Journal of Peace Research Articles
Founded in 1964, the Journal of Peace Research “encourages a wide conception of peace, but focuses on the causes of violence and conflict resolution.” It favors work on practical paths to peace that meets high standards of theory and method. An international editorial committee edits it at the Peace Research Institute Oslo, and since January 2026 Oxford University Press has published it every two months.
Regular articles run up to 11,000 words and research notes up to 6,000, with every element counted, though a 10 percent excess is accepted at first submission. Any readable author-date style works at submission, and references are reformatted to the APA Publication Manual, 7th edition, in editing. Notes carry substantive information only and appear as footnotes. The unstructured abstract runs 200 to 300 words with no citations, followed by two to six keywords. Review is double-anonymized, typically by three reviewers. Quantitative articles deposit replication data after conditional acceptance. Off the Grid Editing fits the article within the limit, every element counted. Submissions go through ScholarOne.
Our Promise
We will ensure that the final draft you receive is completely ready to submit to Journal of Peace Research. We work with you until it is ready or refund your payment in full. That commitment has held since 2002.
Our editors do not have access to your manuscript until an order is placed. Your draft is secure until you decide to proceed.
Manuscript Editing and Proofreading for the Journal of Peace Research
We offer three levels of manuscript editing depending on what your manuscript needs. Each is described below so you can choose the service that fits where your draft is right now.
Grammar and usage, awkward phrasing, repetition, and passive voice corrected, then clarity, concision, sentence structure, transitions, and tone, with your style manual applied throughout and a final proofread. For authors whose argument and structure are settled.
Clarity, emphasis, and paragraph structure: topic sentences, transitions, and sentences reordered within a paragraph, with every fact and claim kept as you wrote it. Includes copy editing and a final proofread.
Spelling, punctuation, typos, capitalization, grammar, and usage corrected with minimal wording changes, for manuscripts that have been edited and need a last check before submission to Journal of Peace Research.
PRIO's submission guidelines cover length, references, and replication. If you have reviewer comments from an earlier submission, send them with your manuscript and we will address each one. If you have questions about which service is right for your manuscript, contact us directly. We respond to every inquiry the same day during business hours.
See journal article and essay editing for how we edit scholarly articles, and academic proofreading for the last read before submission. If English is your second language, see English language editing for researchers. For books, see Oxford University Press manuscript editing. We also prepare articles for the Journal of Conflict Resolution and Security Dialogue.
