A Writer's Guide to Vancouver: Libraries, Bookstores, Writing Groups, and Presses
Anyone with a Vancouver Public Library card can book the recording studios in the Inspiration Lab at Central Library on West Georgia Street. On Granville Island, Upstart & Crow keeps a bookshop and a literary studio under one roof, and the Vancouver Writers Fest centres its week-long festival there. Talonbooks, Anvil Press and UBC Press publish here. Two journals are edited at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby. Poets and novelists work in the same reading rooms and cafés as faculty finishing a monograph.
